Peachtree City has no city trash service: you pick one of three approved haulers. Recycling is in the base rate. Drop-off at 209 McIntosh Trail.

Last checked Oct. 6, 2026. Facts on this page come from the City of Peachtree City’s Garbage and Recycling page and the pages linked below.

Peachtree City does not collect household trash itself. Instead, the city approves a short list of private companies that may run residential routes on city streets, and each household signs up with one of them directly. The company sets your pickup day, your rate and its holiday schedule.

Choosing a hauler

The city lists three approved residential curbside companies, each with a franchise agreement posted on the city’s page:

Company Phone
Pollard Residential Waste Services 770-599-1811
Republic Services 404-693-9200
GFL Environmental 770-474-9273

What the city requires of every approved company:

  • Recycling is part of the base rate. You should not see a separate recycling charge on your bill.
  • The company must provide the first trash cart and the first recycling container free. Extra carts are billed at the company’s published rates.
  • Quarterly rates include the city’s $12-a-year franchise fee, which the city says pays for litter control and recycling education through Keep Peachtree City Beautiful.
  • Rates are set by the companies, not the city, and a whole neighborhood may negotiate a lower rate.

Ask the company for extra services and prices: additional carts, yard debris, bulky waste and backdoor service. If a truck from a company not on the list is serving your street, or your company is not listed, the city asks you to email Public Works administrative coordinator Cinnamon Mack. Several companies have changed hands, so carts may still carry an old name.

What day is my pickup?

Your hauler sets the day when you sign up. Pollard, for example, asks customers on its residential page to have carts out the night before the service day, because pickup times vary. Pollard also asks that carts sit no more than 6 feet from the road, opening toward the street, with 3 feet between carts.

Holiday schedule

There is no citywide holiday schedule, because each hauler sets its own. Pollard’s published rule: it observes New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. When one falls on your service day, pickup runs one day late, and every later pickup that week also moves a day. Holidays on a weekend do not affect service.

Applied to the coming holidays on Pollard’s routes:

Holiday Date What happens on Pollard routes
Thanksgiving Thursday, Nov. 26 Thursday pickup moves to Friday; Friday pickup moves to Saturday
Christmas Friday, Dec. 25 Friday pickup moves to Saturday
New Year’s Day Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 Friday pickup moves to Saturday

Republic Services and GFL customers should check with their company before a holiday week.

What goes in the recycling cart

The city’s franchise agreement says every company must accept at least:

  • Newspaper
  • Aluminum beverage cans and bi-metal cans
  • HDPE and PET plastic containers
  • Cardboard without grease or food

Glass is no longer collected at the curb; the city says it was dropped on Feb. 22, 2016. Take glass to the McIntosh Trail facility below.

Yard waste and bulk pickup

Every company must offer yard waste service, but it may cost extra. Under the agreement, limbs longer than 5 feet or thicker than 4 inches are not yard waste, and neither is debris from professional landscapers or storms.

Bulk pickup is optional for companies and may cost extra. Bulk waste covers appliances, furniture, large brush, auto parts and similar oversize items. Pollard says it does not offer bulk pickup.

Recycling drop-off for residents

Keep Peachtree City Beautiful, an independent nonprofit, staffs two free drop-off sites for city residents only. Bring a photo ID; staff check it on arrival. Details are on the city’s Facilities page.

McIntosh Trail Recycling Facility, 209 McIntosh Trail

  • Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday.
  • Takes corrugated cardboard (broken down), mixed newspapers and magazines, clear and colored glass bottles and jars, hardcover books and aluminum cans.
  • No Styrofoam. The site is under video surveillance, and leaving items when it is closed is prohibited.

Rockaway Road facility, 100 Meade Field Drive

  • Open 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday; last entry 4:15 p.m.
  • Takes natural yard waste only (limbs and logs under 4 feet long, grass, leaves, pine straw, shrub trimmings; empty the bags) and electronics such as computers, laptops, modems, routers and cellphones. No TVs.
  • Free mulch for city residents on the same days. Bring your own containers; on Saturdays a city employee helps with loading. No contractors or commercial trucks.

Neither site takes CRT TVs or monitors, microwaves, refrigerators, light bulbs, Styrofoam, plastic film, oil, batteries, tires, paint, lumber or furniture. The city suggests auto parts stores for used oil, antifreeze, batteries and tires, and mail stores for packing peanuts; call ahead.

What this means for you

  • New in town? Call one of the three approved haulers; the city will not start service for you.
  • Your first trash cart and recycling bin should be free, and recycling should not cost extra.
  • Glass goes to McIntosh Trail, not the curb.
  • Holiday weeks depend on your company. Pollard runs a day late after six holidays.
