This week and next on city streets

Public Works’ roadwork update is the city’s current schedule. All work runs 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., depends on the weather and may change.

The posted schedule covered three streets: Dividend Court (Oct. 5-9), Spear Road (milling Oct. 12, paving Oct. 15) and Prospect Park (tentative, Oct. 13-16). All of those dates have passed. When we checked Saturday, the city had posted no new dates and had not said whether all three streets are finished. Its news page listed no other street or path closures. The city lists no detour for its paving work; it says residents should expect periodic delays while crews are working. Questions go to Public Works at 770-487-5183.

The 2026 paving list

The city’s Public Works page publishes the streets on this year’s repaving list, with a 2026 paving map (PDF):

  • Anthem Avenue, Avalon Way, Blue Sky Court, Bostonian Terrace
  • Celebration Way, Centennial Drive, Centennial Crossing, Coniston Court
  • Constitution Circle, Corbel Court, Declaration Drive, Fielding Ridge
  • Freedom Lane, Garden Gate, Garret Ridge, Glisten View Place
  • Independence Lane, Lantern View, Lighthouse Lane, Mantel Court
  • Mount Vernon Way, Oak Newel, Palatine Place, Palisades
  • Passage Point, Planceer Place, Revolution Drive, Rosemont
  • Sandown Drive, Shore Walk, Southern Shore Drive, Spear Road, The Enclave

If your street is on the list, watch for door hangers and signs before your crew arrives. The city also keeps a street condition rating dashboard and the 2025 paving list on its Streets and Paths page.

State routes: SR 54 and SR 74

For the state highways, check 511 Georgia before you leave: 511ga.org, the 511 Georgia app, or dial 511. When we checked the 511 Georgia list on Saturday, it showed no state road work or lane closures in Fayette County for the next two weeks.

Nearby, 511 Georgia lists a street event in Coweta County: all lanes of SR 14 westbound closed at Madison Street from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. It does not name the event.

Further out, 511 Georgia lists two street events on SR 54 in Fayetteville, about seven miles east. It does not name the events:

  • Saturday, Nov. 14, 8 a.m. to noon: right lane blocked on SR 54 eastbound at McDonough Road.
  • Friday, Nov. 27, 5 to 7 p.m.: all lanes closed on SR 54 at Tiger Trail and at Lee Street.

The city’s Transportation page describes SR 54 and SR 74 as the state highways through town, linking it to Fulton, Coweta and Clayton counties and to I-75 and I-85. 511 Georgia also shows crashes, stalled vehicles and traffic cameras on those routes.

Paying for road work

Much of the city’s paving and new path money comes from the 2023 SPLOST, the countywide 1-cent sales tax voters approved in March 2023. The city’s SPLOST page says it will raise an estimated $210 million over six years from June 1, 2023, with $67,380,600 going to Peachtree City for projects including path connections, road and path repaving and fire trucks. The full project list is on the city’s SPLOST map.

Cart paths

The city’s multiuse paths are part of its road network. Path resurfacing and new connections are mapped on the Streets and Paths page; report a damaged path on the same maintenance form as a street.

Outside the city limits

Unincorporated Fayette County roads are maintained by the county Road Department, which takes pothole, signage and paving requests online or at publicworks@fayettecountyga.gov. Its page listed no current closures when we checked Saturday.

What this means for you

  • No city street is on the posted paving schedule now. Streets on the 2026 list that have not been paved yet should get door hangers and signs before crews arrive.
  • City paving can run until 8 p.m., so evening trips can hit delays too.
  • SR 54 and SR 74 show no planned work in Fayette County for the next two weeks; check 511 before you leave.
