The Avenue on Black Friday
Black Friday Giveaway, Friday, Nov. 27, from 8 a.m. The first 100 shoppers in Fountain Court get a tote bag of offers and small gifts from Avenue stores, and a few bags hold an extra gift. Giveaways are first come, first served, so arrive early, according to The Avenue’s event page.
The center’s regular hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, and individual stores and restaurants may differ, according to The Avenue’s visit page. It had not posted Thanksgiving week hours as of Oct. 6; we will add them when it does. Its management office is in Suite 1050, next to the public restrooms.
Small Business Saturday
Locally owned boutiques sit alongside national chains in the village retail centers and at The Avenue, the visitors bureau says. The Visitor Center at 191 McIntosh Trail sells Peachtree City apparel, hats, artwork, puzzles, dog items and golf goods, which makes it a one-stop shop for gifts with a local name on them. No citywide Small Business Saturday event had been announced as of Oct. 6.
Holiday markets and Santa
- Hometown Holiday, Saturday, Dec. 5, from 4 p.m. The city’s holiday celebration on Drake Field, 155 Willowbend Road, includes vendors; the city is taking vendor applications. More in our holiday lights and Christmas events guide.
- Holiday Photos with Santa Claus, Mondays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, 5 to 7 p.m., at The Avenue, with holiday music, according to the center’s event page.
- Night Market, Friday, Nov. 6, 5 to 10 p.m., at Drake Field: artisan vendors, food trucks and live music, free admission, according to the city’s events calendar.
Getting there: carts, parking and traffic
- Take the cart. Peachtree City’s 100-plus miles of multi-use paths connect neighborhoods to the shopping centers, the city says on its paths and motorized carts page. The Avenue lists golf cart charging stations and storefront parking.
- Register the cart. Carts on the paths need a current city decal; owners must be 18 or older to register one.
- Road and path work. The city posts paving detours for roads and paths on its detour updates page; check it before a big shopping trip.
Holiday closings that week
Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center and the M.T. Allen Memorial Library are closed Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27. See our Thanksgiving guide for the full list and trash pickup.
