Parks, the nature areas and the 100-plus miles of multi-use paths stay open dawn to dusk, so a holiday walk or cart ride around Lake Peachtree is always an option. See our walking and biking trails guide.

Trash pickup

Peachtree City does not run its own trash service. Each household signs up with one of the three companies the city has approved, and each company sets its own holiday schedule, according to the city’s garbage and recycling page. Check with yours before you put the cart out:

Extra cardboard from holiday shopping goes in the recycling cart, which every approved hauler must take at no extra charge. The city also runs a community recycling station; details are on its recycling opportunities page.

Turkey trots and community dinners

No public Thanksgiving Day race or community dinner in Peachtree City had posted 2026 details as of Oct. 6. The city’s events calendar shows a special event permit for a Peachtree City Running Club holiday run on Thanksgiving morning; we will add the time and route when the club publishes them. Churches and nonprofits that host a free Thanksgiving meal can send details through our contact page.

The weekend after

Earlier in November

  • Night Market, Friday, Nov. 6, 5 to 10 p.m., at Drake Field: live music, food trucks and artisan vendors, free.
  • Veterans Day Ceremony, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 9:30 a.m., at Kedron Fieldhouse, 202 Fieldhouse Drive. Kedron and the library are closed that day.

Both are on the city’s Recreation and Special Events calendar.
