Peachtree City’s three nearest neighbors that are cities or towns are Senoia, about six miles away across the line in Coweta County, and Tyrone and Fayetteville, about six and seven miles away in Fayette County. This page puts their official figures side by side, one topic per table, with the same year for every place. It does not rank them.

What this means for you

  • City tax rates differ more than the totals. Tyrone’s 2025 town rate was 2.889 mills and Peachtree City’s 5.840, but the school levy, 19.600 mills in Fayette County, is the biggest part of every Fayette bill.
  • Senoia is a different county and school district. Its county and school rates, and its schools, are Coweta County’s.
  • Check the address, not the mailing city. Zones and tax districts follow city limits and school lines, not ZIP codes.

Property tax rates

Rates are mills (dollars of tax per $1,000 of taxable value) for tax year 2025, from the Georgia Department of Revenue’s 2025 millage rate report (PDF). Georgia taxes homes at 40% of fair market value.

Total of these three 29.203 24.543 26.252 29.009

The same report lists other countywide levies: in Fayette County, a 0.210-mill emergency services levy; in Coweta County, 911, EMS and parks levies that add up to 1.120 mills. Both counties also have fire district levies that apply only where the county provides fire service. The 2026 rates are being set this month; Peachtree City’s hearings are in our property taxes guide.

Exemptions. Every Georgia homeowner can claim the standard homestead exemption through the county tax commissioner. Peachtree City also publishes a city senior exemption: from the 2026 tax year, it takes $30,000 off the assessed value for city taxes for owners 65 or older with household income under $60,000.

How to check an address

  • Which city is a parcel in? Look it up on Fayette County’s qPublic property search or, for Senoia, on the Coweta County tax assessor’s site. The tax district on the record decides which city rate applies.
  • Which schools? Enter the address on Find My School, the lookup Fayette County Public Schools links from its school boundary maps page.
  • What will the tax be? Multiply 40% of the fair market value, less exemptions, by the total millage. The Fayette County Tax Commissioner’s Office, 770-461-3652, handles bills and homestead exemptions; the method is in our property taxes guide.
