Where it is
The city’s 2022 Comprehensive Plan names five villages, Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch, Kedron and Wilksmoor, and says residents often identify where they live by their village name, not their subdivision name. Each village surrounds a Village Center of shops, offices and services; the plan’s map puts the Aberdeen Village Center here. The plan’s historic resources appendix notes that Aberdeen was also the name of an earlier community on this land, before the city was chartered in 1959.
On the city’s village map, Aberdeen runs west of Lake Peachtree, across Ga. 74 (Joel Cowan Parkway) and Ga. 54 (Floy Farr Parkway). Its other main streets in OpenStreetMap are Aberdeen Parkway, Northlake Drive, Riley Parkway, Willowbend Road and Flat Creek Road. Every residential address here in the county’s data is in ZIP code 30269 and inside city limits, so the city provides police, fire and EMS. The city does not run trash pickup: households sign up with an approved hauler, as our trash and recycling guide explains.
